Happy Tails

Hi there - it's been a while , so thought I'd check in and let you know Teddy is still a very happy, healthy little guy,
... he's still "CDW" to us (cutest dog in the world), perfectly behaved, and we're the envy of all who meet him!

More details if you care to read...

Teddy lets me - and the pro's - groom him with no problem....he walks right beside me, at any pace... he's quiet...
friendly with man or beast ... doesn't say a peep or agitate in the car... always calm ...we can - and do - take him
everywhere with us that we think he'd enjoy, because he's just wonderful.

I wanted Teddy to be 10000% secure and stable with us as his home, so we didn't take vacation away from him for a year.
When we went to Florida in January for a week, we left him with a mother of 2, who has 2 of her own dogs
and boards a few others a time in her large home near Toronto (quite the place .. I wouldn't mind staying there myself :) .

When we took him to check it out , he was friendly enough with her retriever , but really bonded with her little scottie,
so I wasn't surprised to hear when I called to see how he was doing, she described her view of the
two little doggie bottoms side by side up on the back of the couch, as they surveyed the landscape out the window
( But of course her dog barks when he sees a squirrel, whereas Teddy rarely does more than a little sort of 'cough'
...... so MY dog is BETTER than HERS ,,, ha ha !

Teddy is perfect - honestly, I can't 'imagine a better behaved little guy - he is amazing.

Typical is when I dropped him off with his kennel, toys, food, ointement and collar in case of a hot spot,
etc. etc. He says 'hello' to the human first, tail wagging, but not jumping up, and rolling over for a belly rub if he
gets the typical reaction ie., 'OOOH , he's sooooo cute! ' and petting (Same at the off-leash park we go to -
he seems more people-oriented than dog-oriented) .

Then he politely makes friends with any dogs - he's just calm and friendly, not "over-the-top" excited ..
And then he sniffs around to explore, but if I tell him no, he'll stay close by.

If I stay in one place, he sits or lies down quietly - or, in this case, he strolled over and curled up in his kennel.

I thought he wasn't paying any attention, but as I turned to open the door to leave, he hopped up to follow me out,

... and I remembered the vet's comment on meeting Tedday a year earlier, after hearing his background and
muzzling him because he'd snapped at me those first 2 days when I put drops in his ears
"You know Dorothy, Teddy's been through a lot - and for all he knows, you could be leaving him with ME now "

Well, Teddy definitely knows now that we are his forever family now!

Thank you again for your good work. I tell everyone about petfinder.com, and to consider adopting,
- carefully and thoughtfully of course. And Teddy is certainly doing his part as a terrific ambassador for the adoption option!

Take Care - Dorothy
